Athens man, 21, killed in parking lot

ATHENS - An Athens man was shot to death yesterday during a fight involving at least 30 people. <br> <br> Athens-Clarke County police say 21-year-old LaCedric Kenwon Shields was killed in the parking lot of a Subway restaurant near Prince Avenue around 2:30 a-m. <br> <br> Restaurant employees told police they saw several cars arrive in the parking lot around closing time, then saw five men get out of the cars and begin fighting. <br> <br> Lieutenant W-J Smith said an officer arrived at the scene shortly after hearing a shot fired. Police say a bullet struck Shields in the forehead. <br> <br> Smith said -- quote -- ``It was more or less just pure chaos. Folks were running around screaming, jumping in cars leaving, and chaos is the best way I can describe it.&#39;&#39; <br> <br> Police have not arrested anyone in connection with the shooting. <br> <br>
