GARDEN CITY - Three men, including a policeman from New Jersey, were arrested after $30,000 of furniture was stolen from a Pier One store in Garden City.

Police say store employees Larry Sams and Quasar Bolden sold some of the stolen wicker chairs, rattan sofas and bamboo trunks in Savannah last weekend. They returned to work yesterday, where they were arrested and charged with burglary.

A tip led authorities to the rest of the merchandise, found behind the home of 39-year-old James Waiters in Toomerville, South Carolina. Waiters, an undercover officer with the Jersey City Police Department who lives part-time in South Carolina, was charged with possession of stolen property.
