Three inmates escape from Candler County jail

METTER - Three inmates who escaped from the Candler County jail Monday are still on the loose Wednesday. <br> <br> Authorities identified the three as Cesar Cabrera, Bobby Jones and Donald Thurston. <br> <br> Sheriff Homer Bell said Cabrera and Jones overpowered two officers Monday morning and fled, joined by Thurston. <br> <br> It was the second time in two months that Cabrera and Jones had escaped the jail, also fleeing in February before being captured. <br> <br> Cabrera and Jones were awaiting transportation to state penitentiaries to serve burglary sentences. Thurston was being held on a charge of theft by receiving stolen property. <br> <br> Bell said the escaped convicts might be driving a black Chevrolet pickup and should be considered dangerous.
