TOCCOA - The Chief of the Toccoa Police department says he feels his men did nothing wrong during a weekend car chase that ended with a fatal crash.

Two Toccoa Police cruisers were pursuing 49-year-old David Beshers of Clayton County for suspicion of DUI, when the cruisers tried to pin Beshers between them.

The cars collided and Beshers was killed on impact.

Chief Frank Strickland says the officer involved is still working and will not be put on leave pending a result of the investigation.

The accident happened on Highway 145 near the Stephens-Franklin County line Saturday afternoon.
