Worker killed on I-75 is identified

MARIETTA - Cobb County police have identified a worker hired by the state Department of Transportation who was struck by a pickup truck and killed along I-75. <br> <br> Police say 28-year-old Michael Martin of Decatur was a passenger in a street sweeper that was picking up debris along the interstate in Marietta about 11 p.m. Sunday. He was an employee of Sweeping Corporation of America Incorporated. <br> <br> Police spokesman Dana Pierce says Martin was outside the work vehicle when he was struck by a pickup driven by a man from Tennessee. Both the driver of the truck and of the street sweeper were treated for injuries and released. <br> <br> No charges have been filed.
