Hot Bulldogs beat UAB

STARKVILLE, MISSISSIPPI - Jon Mungle drove in a career-high four runs on two hits and Chad Henry went 4-for-5 to lead Mississippi State to an 8-3 victory over UAB on Tuesday night. <br>

Mississippi State (24-15-1) led 5-0 going into the fifth inning before UAB (13-27) answered with its first run. Mungle hit a two-run double in a four-run third inning to give State the five-run lead. <br>

Matt Gaulder hit a single for UAB and Seth Rollin followed with an RBI double into the left field corner in the fifth to cut the lead to 5-1. Two innings later, Rollin hit a solo home run, his sixth homer of the season, to cut the score to 6-3. <br>

Mungle added a two-run homer, his seventh of the season, in the seventh to cap the scoring and secure the win for Mississippi State. <br>
<br>
Joey Collums (3-3) retired the first 10 batters he faced and surrendered only three hits in five innings for Mississippi State. He allowed one run in picking up the win. <br>
<br>
Ryan Huffman (1-4) allowed five runs on nine hits in three innings to take the loss for UAB.
