UGA accepts fewer students for freshman class

ATHENS - Fewer students have been accepted into the next freshman class at the University of Georgia, although the number of applicants increased. <br> <br> Admissions Director Nancy McDuff predicts about 43-hundred of the eight-thousand, 200 accepted students will choose to enroll this summer and fall. That&#39;s about 200 fewer than last year. <br> <br> This year&#39;s regular applicant pool has an average S-A-T score of 12-hundred, up roughly ten points from last year. The average high school G-P-A is 3.50, compared with last year&#39;s 3.48. The university accepted the 82-hundred students from 12-thousand, 800 applications. That is a ten percent increase in the number of applicants.
