Teen dies while driving home from prom

DOUGLASVILLE - A Douglas County student was killed over the weekend while driving home from the prom. <br> <br> Police said Jeff Powell, 17, lost control of his car early Saturday along Interstate 20. He died in a one car accident in Douglas County, WSB-TV reported Monday. <br> <br> Powell had attended the Alexander High School prom earlier that night. His mother said he was driving home at the time of the accident. She told WSB-TV that she spoke with him via cell phone before the crash. <br> <br> Police believe Powell fell asleep at the wheel. <br> <br>
