Clemson hammers College of Charleston

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Jarrod Schmidt had six RBIs on four hits to lead Clemson to a 14-6 victory over College of Charleston on Friday. <br>

Schmidt was 4-for-6 and David Slevin was 3-for-5 to lead the Tigers (4-0). <br>
<br>
The game was tied at two until the top of the fifth, when Schmidt hit a three-run homer to start a seven-run inning for Clemson. <br>
<br>
The Cougars (9-2) got four runs in the bottom of the fifth, but the Tigers would scatter five runs over the rest of the game to protect their lead. <br>
<br>
Steven Jackson (1-0) pitched five innings and gave up six earned runs on eight hits to get the win. <br>
<br>
Ryan (3-1) Johnson allowed seven runs in 4 1/3 innings in the loss.
