SAVANNAH - Four Georgia-based soldiers were among seven Americans killed Monday during heavy fighting in Afghanistan were based in Georgia, the Pentagon said Tuesday. <br>

Three of the soldiers, members of the 1st Battalion of the 75th Ranger Regiment, were based at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah. <br>
<br>
They were identified as Sgt. Bradley S. Crose, 22, of Orange Park, Fla.; Spc. Marc A. Anderson, 30, of Brandon, Fla.; and Pfc. Matthew A. Commons, 21, of Boulder City, Nev. <br>
<br>
``Everybody here is taking it as expected. They're saddened,'' said Capt. Josh Davis, a spokesman for the Ranger unit. ``Their hearts are going out to the families and the guys. <br>
<br>
``Right now, they wish they could be involved in it, just like they were,'' Davis said. <br>
<br>
Also killed was Senior Airman Jason D. Cunningham, 26, of Camarillo, Calif. <br>
<br>
Cunningham was stationed at Moody Air Force Base near Valdosta, where he had a wife and two young daughters, said Lito D'Castro, Cunningham's father-in-law. <br>
<br>
D'Castro of Camarillo, Calif., said he and his wife heard the news when their daughter called Tuesday morning. <br>
<br>
``She was hysterical. She talked to her mom and said, `Jason is dead.' That's it,'' he said. <br>
<br>
``He's a nice guy,'' D'Castro said of his son-in-law. ``He loves the service.''
