WOODSTOCK - A former high school teacher was sentenced to 60 to 120 days in jail and six months probation after pleading guilty to the sexual assault and statutory rape of a 15-year-old former student.
Bradley L. Chapman, 25, of Roswell, is one of three former Woodstock High School teachers who resigned following investigations into improper relationships with students.
Chapman also is restricted from contacting the student and her family and must register as a sex offender.
Chapman entered the plea Feb. 13. His attorney, Steve Sadow, said his client pleaded guilty because he regrets breaking the law.
``He doesn't regret that he has fallen in love with a woman who will probably become his wife some day,'' Sadow said.
Former teacher Richard Paul Adams II has pleaded guilty to simple assault and reckless conduct involving a student after trying to solicit a relationship with her.
A third former teacher, Gene R. Groves, has been indicted on five counts of sexual assault, accused of having sex with one student and touching another. His case has yet to come to trial.
