Stewart County judge accused of stealing

RICHLAND - Authorities say Stewart County Deputy Magistrate judge Sarah Simmons has been accused of stealing about $1,400 last December from two Randolph County companies. <br> <br> Simmons worked as a bookkeeper for Jones Logging Company and farms. <br> <br> Investigators believe as much as $30,000 may have been taken. <br> <br> Stewart County Sheriff Larry Jones says Simmons was charged with theft by conversion. <br> <br> She has been suspended without pay pending the outcome of the case.
