SEC asks Worldcom to produce information

CLINTON, MISSISSIPPI - WorldCom says it has received a request from the Securities and Exchange Commission for voluntary production of documents and information. <br> <br> The telecom company says that among other things, regulators are looking for info on a pretax charge associated with wholesale accounts, disputed customer bills and sales commissions and certain accounting policies. <br> <br> The SEC also wants information on loans by WorldCom to officers or directors. <br> <br> WorldCom says that it believes all of its policies, practices and procedures comply with all applicable accounting standards and laws. The company says it intends to cooperate with the Commissions inquiry.
