Inmate found hanged in Early County Jail

BLAKELY - Authorities say a 28-year-old man in jail for driving under the influence hanged himself in his cell in southwest Georgia. <br> <br> Fernandez Thomas was found hanging in his cell in the Early County Jail at 6 p.m. Sunday. <br> <br> Authorities say he had been arrested less than two hours earlier on charges of DUI and driving with a suspended license. They say it was his third arrest for DUI. <br> <br> The coroner is awaiting autopsy results from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation before issuing an official cause of death.
