SAVANNAH - Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, a subsidiary of General Dynamics, said Wednesday it has been awarded a ten-year contract for as many as 20 jets and service for the Air Force.
The contract, through February 2012, will include Gulfstream V and V-SP aircraft, which the Air Force designates the C-37.
Gulfstream said the contract has no set schedule for deliveries nor does it specify how many planes the military will order. The contract would be worth $1.6 billion if all 20 planes and support programs are purchased.
The first purchase, a GV, is valued at $43.5 million.
Gulfstream has sold about 135 of its jets to 30 governments.
