Tech drops ACC opener to Wake Forest

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Ryan Johnson's two-run double in the bottom of the ninth inning lifted Wake Forest to a 10-9 over Georgia Tech on Friday. <br>

Trailing 9-8 after eight innings, Wake Forest (14-2, 1-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) rallied for two runs in the bottom of the ninth. Jamie D'Antona and Stephen Ghutzman led off the inning with back-to-back walks before Johnson knocked the double off the center field wall. <br>

Adam Bourassa led Wake Forest with three hits and three RBI. <br>
<br>
Georgia Tech (14-2, 0-1) was led by Eric Patterson, who had three hits and an RBI. The loss snapped the Yellow Jackets' winning streak at seven games. <br>
<br>
Dave Bush (2-0) picked up the win in relief after tossing a scoreless seventh inning. Brian Burks (4-1) took the loss for Georgia Tech, allowing two runs in 2.1 innings of work.
