ATLANTA - The Falcons are out of the market for free agent safety Lance Schulters of the 49ers.

Atlanta is now about $2 million under the salary cap, enough room for rookies and some second- and third-tier free agents.

Former Jets safety Victor Green, who lives in Alpharetta in the offseason, former Steelers cornerback DeShea Townsend and former Cardinals cornerback Corey Chavous are interested in playing for the Falcons.

Chavous met last week with defensive coordinator Wade Phillips.
