Florida still unbeaten in SEC play

GAINESVILLE, FLORIDA - Aaron Sobieraj had a three-run triple in the third inning as Florida held off Mississippi 7-6 Saturday. <br>

Sobieraj finished with four RBIs for the Gators (17-3, 2-0), picking up a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning. After Florida scored four in the third, Mississippi (13-5, 0-2) bounced back for a couple in the top of the fourth, including a home run by Burney Hutchinson. <br>

Alex Hart (6-0) went 8 1/3 innings with five earned runs, nine hits allowed, three strikeouts and three walks. But single by pinch-hitter Josh Christian chased him from the game in the ninth inning with runners on first and second, and one out. <br>

The Rebels scored three runs with Florida reliever Jamie Goldfarb in the game to cut the lead to one. <br>
<br>
Florida closer Kevin Coleman relieved Goldfarb with runners on first and second and two outs. Mississippi starter J.R. Pickens (3-1) got the loss. He gave up seven runs - five earned - eight hits, three walks and struck out four in 6 1/3 innings.
