North Georgia splits on the diamonds

It was a .500 weekend for the women's softball team from North Georgia College and State University.<br>
<br>
In Montgomery, Saturday, the Lady Saints dropped the opener of a two-game series with Faulkner 4-1, before rebounding 1-0 in the second game.<br>
<br>
North Georgia returned home Sunday only to be shut out 4-0 in the opener with Georgia Southwestern, but came back to win 6-4 in the nightcap.<br>
<br>
The Lady Saints are 13-8 overall, and 2-3 in the Georgia-Alabama- Carolina Conference; and are slated to host Tennessee's Lee University at noontime Wednesday.<br>
<br>
The North Georgia baseball men won once in three tries against Faulkner (23-8, 6-3 GACC) in Dahlonega over the weekend.<br>
<br>
Gainesville alum Bryan Brinson had a 3-for-4, 3RBI game in an 8-6 win for North Georgia. He batted in another in a 4-2 loss, and scored the only run North Georgia run in a 2-1 loss.<br>
<br>
The Saints (20-16, 5-6 GACC) are scheduled to be at Montreat College in North Carolina at 1:00 Tuesday afternoon.
