The airline announced Monday it is cutting the suggested time to get to Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport to one hour -- down from two hours that had been recommended because of increased security following the September eleventh attacks.
On April 15, however, Delta will start requiring passengers on domestic flights to be checked in and at the gate 15 minutes before departure time. That's up from ten minutes now.
Passengers who miss the deadline may see the airline cancel their reservation or seat assignment.
The airline says the change will help ensure that planes depart on time.
