Phillip Humann, the idea of creating a Kid's Report grew out of SunTrust's stepped-up emphasis on improving performance and customer service, which in turn has increased
demands on its own employees.

"SunTrust is successful because our people work hard. We ask a lot of our employees -- and they deliver," said Mr. Humann.

While the Kid's Report was developed originally for SunTrust employees, Mr. Humann said its messages are not limited to any single company. "We would be delighted if people beyond the SunTrust family find this report of value in explaining what a bank like ours does and why it matters," he said.

SunTrust Banks, Inc., headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, is one of the nation's largest commercial banking organizations.
