Prep tennis busy Thursday

Once-beaten Grayson ended the West Hall boys&#39; tennis team&#39;s win streak with a bang yesterday. Grayson shut out the Spartans love-five. <br> <br> #1 singles Drew Rutland defeated Joseph Pate 6-1, 6-1 <br> #2 Sandeep Anand def. Drew Wilkerson 6-1, 6-2 <br> #3 Sandjay Anand def. Matt Whiting 6-1, 6-2 <br> <br> #1 doubles Will Gifford/Corey Mansour def. Nathan Reed /Steven Craig 6-4, 6-4<br> <br> #2 Joe Bowie/Matt Kramer def. Kevin Samples/Mark Braza 6-2, 7-5<br> <br> West Hall goes to 9-2 on the year and 4-1 in region play.<br> The West Hall girls salvaged a split with a 3-2 win over Grayson, thanks to strong doubles play and wins by the Lady Spartans from the teams of Kalen Fletcher/Marie Morris and Britney Whitaker/Sarah Burtch. Chrissy Raby got the win in singles at number three for West Hall (7-3, 4-1, 8-AAAA).<br> <br> The Johnson girls went to 7-1 on the season with a 5-nil blanking of Lakeview in a Hall County Tournament match, not dropping a set along the way.<br> <br> Singles wins for the Lady Knights came from Kristen Fouts, Jamie Green, and Taylor Day, while their doubles teams of Mary Phillips/Lori Vaughn and Melissa Dibben/Tiffany Fouts also won.<br> <br> Lakeview turned the tables on Johnson in the boys&#39; match-up with a 4-1 decision.<br> <br> Tony Abdulkarim and Michael Stump won in singles for the Lions, while their dubs teams of Holden Sawyer/James Francis and Kevin Brooks/Justin Marshall also won. <br> <br> The Knights&#39; win came at number two singles from Drew Nutter.<br> <br> The North Hall teams swept Newton County at North Hall: 5-0 boys, and 4-1 girls.<br> <br> Andrew Klein, Kip Wright, and Jared Hunt won on the singles&#39; side for the Trojans (6-4) while doubles wins came from Tyler Smiley/Paul Herdener and Andrew Copeland/James Surgeoner.<br> <br> The Lady Trojans picked up singles victories from Erin Thornton and Allison Wagner, and doubles wins from Erin Jackson/Allison Shuler and Jessica Lawson/Catherine Reynolds.<br> <br> The East Hall boys picked up their first win of the season with a 5-0 home shut-out of Bans County.<br> <br> The Vikings (1-6, 1-0 in 8-AA) got singles wins from Pat O&#39;Neal, Jake Beggs, and Todd Goss; while the two doubles teams, Jess Odell/Ryan Mioduski and Carl Wilson/T.J. Harris also won.<br> <br> The West Hall girls salvaged a split with a 3-2 win over Grayson, thanks to strong doubles play and wins by the Lady Spartans from the teams of Kalen Fletcher/Marie Morris and Britney Whitaker/Sarah Burtch.
