Delta flight returns to Atlanta airport

ATLANTA - A Delta plane headed for Phoenix returned to Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport shortly after takeoff Monday morning because of a smoky odor in the cabin. <br>
<br>
The 116 passengers on board have been put on other flights. <br>
<br>
Delta spokeswoman Katie Connell says Flight 989, a Boeing 767, returned after taking off at 8:21 a.m. <br>
<br>
The plane is now being evaluated by a maintenance crew.
