Scranton, who has a 3.6 grade-point average at Buford High School and a combined 1,200 on the SAT, said he was leaning strongly to Georgia Tech until his Jan. 25-27 visit to Fayetteville. In addition to the Yellowjackets, Scranton was recruited by LSU and other schools.
He said he liked what he saw at Fayetteville the program, the coaches, and the town.
``I grew up in a suburb of Philadelphia that had all the little creeks and ponds like Fayetteville,'' he said.
