Sexual assault case uncovered while investigating unrelated case

CARROLTON - Police officials say the sexual assault of a female student was filmed on an eight-millimmeter video tape they recovered, while investigating an unrelated rape charge. <br>

Three baseball players at the State University of Georgia were arrested Monday in connection with the assualt and charged with aggravated sexual battery. <br>
<br>
They were released Tuesday on $15,000 bonds each. <br>
<br>
Police say the video shows the three students sexually assualting an unconscious woman. Investigators say the student was drinking but they are looking into the possibility of a date rape drug. <br>
<br>
The three are identified as: 22-year-old Michael Perez and 21-year-old Barry Allen Sommer, both of Florida, and 22-year-old Bryant Hodges of Donalsonville. <br>
<br>
The university's athletic director - Ed Murphy - said the students are suspended from the baseball team because of athletic policy. <br>
<br>
The video was filmed at Perez's apartment and recovered on January 31.
