Davidson shoots past Georgia Southern

DAVIDSON, N.C. - Chris Pearson had 18 points and 16 rebounds as Davidson beat Georgia Southern 64-56 on Wednesday. <br>

Trailing 34-33, Davidson (17-7, 10-3 Southern Conference) went on a 10-2 run ending on a Pearson dunk - to take a seven-point edge. The Eagles got no closer than four points the rest of the way. <br>

Davidson held the Eagles (13-11, 6-7) to 30-percent shooting in the second half and took a 44-34 rebounding edge. <br>
<br>
Georgia Southern jumped to a 15-2 lead, but Davidson scored nine unanswered points to get back into the game and eventually tie the score at 30 going into halftime. <br>
<br>
Pearson had three blocks to go with his sixth double-double of the season as Davidson shot 41 percent. Peter Anderer had 11 points while Michael Bree added 10. <br>
<br>
Sean Peterson scored 18 points on 9-for-19 shooting, while Kashien Latham had 11 points and 10 rebounds for Georgia Southern.
