ELYSBURG, PENNSYLVANIA - Levelor-Kirsch Window Fashions has announced it will close its Shamokin Township, Pennsylvania, plant in April, eliminating about 150 jobs. <br>

Local plant officials won't comment, but a faxed statement from the company's High Point, North Carolina, headquarters says the plant will close by April 15 as part of its ongoing manufacturing consolidation. <br>

Levelor-Kirsch makes window blinds at the Shamokin plant. The company is a division of Newell Rubbermaid and employs about 2,300 people at plants in Georgia, California, Utah, Canada and Mexico.
