Georgia State beats Mercer

MERCER - Senior forward Bam Campbell scored a career-best 23 points, and Thomas Terrell had 22 points and 16 rebounds in Georgia State&#39;s 82-74 Atlantic Sun Conference victory over Mercer Thursday night. <br> <br> The Panthers (16-8, 12-6 A-Sun) won their third straight on the road and their seventh of eight overall. They travel to Troy State on Saturday for a showdown for first place in the conference. <br> <br> Mercer (5-21, 3-14) scored the final five points of the first half to go up 42-40 at intermission. The Bears held their last lead, 49-45, with 16:54 to go, when Georgia State launched a 10-0 run, including five points by Terrell. <br> <br> Aleem Muhammad led Mercer with 25 points. His last goal cut the margin to 62-61, but Terrell hit back-to-back 3-pointers for the Panthers, who scored eight straight free throws down the stretch.
