Woman dies in house fire in Decatur

DECATUR - A 23-year-old woman was killed in a house fire Thursday night despite attempts to escape the blaze. <br>
<br>
Firefighters were called to the scene around 9:30 p.m. in Decatur. DeKalb County authorities have not determined the cause of the fire. <br>
<br>
The body of the victim was found near a window. Fire officials said she was in a wheelchair and apparently had tried to get out of the house. <br>
<br>
Neighbors tried to fight the fire with a hose but were unable to help the woman, officials said. <br>
<br>
DeKalb Fire Lt. Eric Jackson said the woman's parents escaped the fire. One person got out on their own. A second person was assisted out by firefighters. <br>
<br>
The woman's father was treated for smoke inhalation. <br>
<br>
Authorities have not released the names of the three.
