Gulfstream to get engines from Rolls-Royce PLC

LONDON - Rolls-Royce PLC has signed an agreement with Savannah, Georgia-based Gulfstream Aerospace Corporaton to supply two billion dollars worth of aircraft engines over the next decade. <br> <br> Rolls-Royce said Tuesday it has firm orders for 300 BR-710 turbofan engines and options to deliver another 300. The engines will power the new twin-engine Gulfstream VSP business jet aircraft. <br> <br> The BR-710, produced by Rolls-Royce Deutschland at its Dahlewitz plant near Berlin, is the sole power plant for the Gulfstream V and Gulfstream VSP corporate jets. <br> <br> The BR-710 is already used on two Bombardier business jets -- the long-range Global Express and the ``super large&#39;&#39; Global 5000. Rolls-Royce said the engine has also been chosen to power the BAE Systems Nimrod MRA4, Britain&#39;s new maritime reconnaissance plane.
