Wall Street Journal's Washington bureau chief Murray moving to CNBC

WASHINGTON - Alan Murray, Washington bureau chief of The Wall Street Journal, is moving to CNBC to be the cable business news channel&#39;s Washington bureau chief and to co-host a prime-time show. <br> <br> Pamela Thomas-Graham, who became chief executive of the New Jersey-based network last year, told The Washington Post in Wednesday&#39;s editions that Murray&#39;s hiring is part of an effort at repositioning. <br> <br> &#34;Part of my vision for CNBC is that we have much more nuanced coverage of Washington,&#34; she said. &#34;I&#39;ve heard from corporate leaders and CEOs that they want to understand Washington on a much more detailed level.&#34; <br> <br> Murray, 47, told the Post said he&#39;s been thinking for some time about &#34;what I would do for a next act.&#34; <br> <br> He considered running a Washington think tank, among other things. An 18-year veteran of the Journal, Murray will maintain his connection with the paper by writing a weekly column for the politics page. <br> <br> Murray has been a frequent guest on CNBC, which has an alliance with the Journal. A longtime regular on PBS&#39;s &#34;Washington Week in Review,&#34; he would be the first CNBC bureau chief to double as an on-air personality. <br> <br> <br>
