Athens man indicted in traffic death of man who saved woman, baby

ATHENS - A Clarke County grand jury has indicted an Athens man on three felony counts of vehicular homicide in the November death of a man who was killed as he shoved a woman and her infant daughter to safety. <br>

Ricardo Arriaga-Gutierrez, 27, is charged in the death of Randy Burris, 39. He was struck as he was pushing 26-year-old Heather Carlson and her 2-month-old daughter from the path of Arriaga-Gutierrez's car. <br>
<br>
Burris died Nov. 27, two days after the crash. <br>
<br>
Arriaga-Gutierrez also faces charges of leaving the scene of an accident, no proof of insurance and driving without a license. The indictments were returned Wednesday. <br>
<br>
Carlson, a Miami resident who was visiting family, and the baby weren't hurt. Arriaga-Gutierrez remains in the Clarke County jail with a $65,000 bond.
