Supreme Court dismisses suit against Atlanta Journal-Constitution

ATLANTA - The Georgia Supreme Court Monday dismissed a libel lawsuit against The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. <br> <br> The newspaper was sued by attorney Franklin Nix over a 1997 article about ethics and lawyers. The article referred to a lawsuit against Nix brought by another lawyer. <br> <br> Nix sued for defamation, invasion of privacy and intentional infliction of emotional distress. A lower court dismissed the last two claims but not the defamation claim. <br> <br> The Supreme Court decided Monday to dismiss the defamation claim as well because the article&#39;s information was substantively true. <br> <br> The court wrote, ``Nix cannot prove the falsity of the article.&#39;&#39; <br> <br> Nix declined comment toy.
