Carter en route to Norway for Nobel ceremony

ATLANTA - Former president Jimmy Carter is on his way to Norway Saturday for the ceremony at which he will be presented with the Nobel Prize for Peace. <br>

Carter's wife Rosalyn organized a surprise send-off for him in their hometown of Plains. About 300 Georgia high school students were there. In addition, more than 20,000 schoolchildren from across the state sent cards of congratulations. <br>
<br>
Carter arrives in Oslo Sunday for three days of celebration. On Monday, there will be a dinner with the awards committee. Then on Tuesday, Carter will have an audience with Norway's King Harald the Fifth and later receive his prize along with this year's other recipients.
