Superintendent to stay on job after entering plea

ASHBURN - A south Georgia school superintendent charged with aggravated assault and making terroristic threats will stay on the job after pleading guilty to a lesser charge. <br>

Turner County School Superintendent Jimmy Alberson was set to go on trial this week. He pleaded guilty to a lesser misdemeanor charge. <br>
<br>
Alberson will be on probation and must pay a fine. He will be allowed to keep his job. <br>
<br>
Alberson was charged with four counts of aggravated assault and terroristic threats after a February 12, 1999, incident. He was accused of threatening a Georgia Department of Transportation worker with a gun.
