Fayette County teacher resigns after arrest

TYRONE - A 44-year-old Fayette County teacher has resigned after being arrested on sex charges. <br> <br> A school spokeswoman said Wednesday that Sandy Creek High School government teacher Damian Belvedere resigned November 22. That was the same day he was arrested after authorities said they caught him using his classroom computer at the school in Tyrone to transmit sexual images of himself over the Internet. <br> <br> Belvedere was arrested in the empty classroom during school hours. He is free on $16,500 bond. He is charged with one count of public indecency and two counts of distributing obscene material. <br> <br> Authorities say no students were involved.
