Alumna leaves big donation to Marietta schools

MARIETTA - A 1922 graduate of Marietta High Scool has left the school system $250,000. <br> <br> LeoDelle Lassiter Jolley, a philanthropist who died last year at the age of 97, was a leading supporter of local education during her life. Her family has earmarked the donations for the creation of a museum to be named in Jolley&#39;s honor. <br> <br> Marietta City Schools Foundation Executive Director Neil Barfield said the donation, the largest single gift in its 19-year-history, brings the organization&#39;s total holdings to about $1.7 million. <br> <br> A former school teacher, Jolley made many generous gifts to local schools, including more than $500,000 to Kennesaw State University for various projects over the years and to Marietta schools in the early 1990s.
