ATLANTA - Governor Barnes announced Monday he will reappoint Milton E. ``Buddy'' Nix to the Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles.
Barnes first appointed Nix to the board in June to fill the vacancy created when Bobby Whitworth resigned amid a state investigation. Nix has been director of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation since 1993.
Nix' new six-year term will begin Dec. 31, 2002, the same day the partial term to which he was first appointed expires.
Barnes said Nix has ``done a great job, and I'm proud to reappoint him to a full term.''
Gov.-elect Sonny Perdue consulted on the reappointment of Nix, who he said has brought ``experience, leadership and integrity to this important position.''
