ALBANY - The Fall Feather Hunt brought hundreds of wealthy quail hunters to Albany Wednesday as part of an annual push to attract business to the state.

Guests from as far away as California and Washington will be joined by about 35 state private economic planners and Lieutenant Governor Mark Taylor.

Companies that have sent guests to the annual hunt have made two billion in new or expanded investments and created jobs for more than 13,000 people in the state.

Hosts include the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, Georgia Allies and the Southwest Georgia Chamber Council.

During their stay, guests are introduced to a lifestyle that evolved nearly a century ago, when wealthy Northerners began buying small farms and turning them into large estates, sometimes encompassing thousands of acres.
