UGA will open a part of its Web site at 5 p.m. Monday so students who opted for the early admissions process may check their applications. The office also will send letters next week to all applicants telling them if they've been accepted, deferred or denied admission.
``Students might want to log on at home, with their families, instead of at school or in a library,'' said association admissions director Robert Spatig. ``It might be best to wait and find out their situations in private.''
Early action applicants had an average GPA of 3.65 and average SAT scores of 1233.
About half will get good news, and about half of those will decide to attend UGA. Students applying for regular decision with a Feb. 1 deadline will fill the remaining 3,300 slots.
The nonbinding early admissions process was designed to allow students more time in deciding their futures, and it also will help spread out school officials' admissions workload over a longer time.
