Up to 2,200 Air Force jobs may be cut

ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE - Officials say up to 22-hundred jobs in the Air Force Materiel Command could be cut over the next seven years -- although that number may change. <br> <br> The possible job cuts include about 240 at Robins Air Force Base. <br> <br> The Macon Telegraph reported in Sunday&#39;s editions that the figure could rise or fall depending on budgets, national policy decisions and approval by senior officers. The newspaper cited Air Force officials. <br> <br> The Air Force had previously acknowledged potential job cuts through 2004, but now says more cuts may be on the horizon through 2009. The materiel command includes 13 bases. <br> <br> The Warner Robins Air Logistics Center employes 11,300 civilians and two-thousand military members.
