Georgia education officials rejects key Florida job

ATLANTA - A top administrator of Georgia&#39;s colleges and universities, chosen last summer for a key education post in Florida, has turned the new job down and will remain in Georgia. <br> <br> Daniel S. Papp, senior vice chancellor for academics and fiscal affairs, had accepted the position of chancellor of Florida&#39;s Division of Colleges and Universities and was to have begun his duties January First. <br> <br> In announcing Monday that he has turned down the job, Papp cited changed circumstances and remaining uncertainties about the roles and responsibilities of the position in Florida. <br> <br> Papp did not elaborate about his concerns with Florida&#39;s system, but a statement issued by the Florida Board of Education said Papp notified the board that a factor in his decision was the passage of Amendment Eleven, which will create a university system Board of Governors.
