Woman, 18, given life sentence for role in 2000 murder

MARIETTA - A Marietta woman will be sentenced to life in prison Tuesday for an armed robbery and murder that happened when she was 15. <br> <br> Starsha Scott is 18 now. She will become the seventh female her age or younger sentenced to the Georgia prison system for life. <br> <br> Officials say Scott was convicted September 25th of participating in the May tenth, 2000, robbery of a Cobb County Citgo gas station. <br> <br> Ejaz Rana - the gas station&#39;s manager - was killed during the robbery. <br> <br> Scott&#39;s cousin - Melvin Dwayne Cooper - pleaded guilty to murder and armed robbery and testified in Scott&#39;s trial. <br> <br> Cobb County Superior Court Judge S. Lark Ingram must sentence Scott to mandatory life sentences on each charge of murder and armed robbery. Ingram will decide whether Scott&#39;s sentences run concurrently or consecutively. <br> <br> In Georgia, anyone 13 years old or older can be tried for murder as an adult.
