New department store to be built in downtown Atlanta

ATLANTA - Dillard's will become the first department store to be built in intown Atlanta in 50 years. <br>

Dillard's has signed on to become an anchor department in Atlantic Station in Midtown Atlanta. <br>
<br>
Jacoby Development -- the codeveloper of Atlantic Station -- has been in talks with several potential store anchors, including Bloomingdale's. <br>
<br>
Dillard's will build a multi-level 225,000-square-foot department store. It will join anchors United Artists Theater, California Pizza Kitchen, Marble Slab and Eye Gallery. <br>
<br>
The 138-acre Atlanta Station project is being built on the west side of the so-called Downtown Connector, made up of Interstates 75 and 85. <br>
<br>
It will combine a retail and entertainment center with office towers, hotels and housing.
