Georgia citizen soldiers come home just in time for Christmas

BRUNSWICK - About three-dozen members of the Georgia Air National Guard&#39;s 224th Joint Communications Support Squadron have returned just in time for the holidays. <br> <br> It was their second overseas deployment since the Septmber 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. <br> <br> The Brunswick-based unit has been in high demand during the war on terrorism. It&#39;s one of the few military units in the nation that specializes in installing high-tech communications gear hotline phones, high-speed Internet lines, videoconference terminals in war zones. <br> <br> Elements of the 224th were sent to Afghanistan during the unit&#39;s first nine-month deployment that began October 1, 2001. They returned home for six months before being called up again November 1.
