Robbery suspect going on trial

GAINESVILLE - A man charged with robbing a North Hall convenience store five times over a period of months last year is to go on trial this week in Gainesville.

23-year-old Billy Barton Gardner, Jr. of J. Martin Road was arrested last August.

Barton is charged with robbing Maisha's convenience store on Cleveland Highway twice last March, once last June, and twice last August.

He was arrested August 18 2001 one day after the second robbery at the store in one week.
