GAINESVILLE - Hall County commissioner Brenda Branch is defending her action on a controversial rezoning decision that is at the crux of a ethics complaint filed against her.

"...I made the decision on a rezoning and made the right decision," Branch said. "I did not do it alone. I did it with the balance of the commissioners."

The director of the State Ethics Commission Tuesday confirmed that the complaint was filed Friday by Dr. Henry Lewis of Royal Lakes Subdivision.

However, Lee says, on the surface, it appears it does not meet all the criteria for consideration by the commission: that it be in writing, that it be verified under sworn oath, and that it detail one or more alleged violations of the Ethics In Government Act.

"I've done my job. I've done it well," Branch said Tuesday morning.
