HAMPTON - Federal authorities say charges are possible against a man and woman after ten explosive devices were found outside a mobile home where they planned to live.
Authorities answered a call Monday morning after the devices were found outside the trailer at Clover Ranch Mobile Home Park about half a mile from Atlanta Motor Speedway. They spent the next 24 hours detonating the devices, leaving the area around 7 a.m. Tuesday.
The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms is investigating the case. The assistant special agent of the ATF's Atlanta Field Division -- Mark Potter -- says charges are possible later Tuesday.
The man and woman suspected in the case are being held at the Clayton County Jail on unrelated fraud charges from Florida.
Authorities have not released their names.
Potter would not elaborate about the devices found.
But the co-manager of the mobile home park -- David Sperat Junior -- says the devices were about ten inches tall and consisted of two connecting pieces of PVC pipe with plastic flowers stuffed inside.
He says a woman found the devices as she was putting her daughter's belongings into the trailer where the daughter planned to move.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Henry County authorities are assisting in the investigation.
