Florida Atlantic runs past Morris Brown

MIAMI - Daveon Barron rushed for two touchdowns and Jared Allen passed for two more Saturday as Florida Atlantic defeated Morris Brown College 34-13. <br>

It was the first win of the season for Florida Atlantic (1-8), which entered the game last in rushing and total offense in Division 1-AA. <br>
<br>
The Owls gained 233 rushing yards and finished with 418 total yards, three yards short of the school record. <br>
<br>
Barron's second touchdown, a 1-yard run in the third quarter, gave the Owls a 24-7 lead. <br>
<br>
Allen's 15-yard pass to Matt Prudenti in the fourth quarter put Florida Atlantic ahead 34-7. <br>
<br>
Morris Brown scored late in the fourth quarter on a 4-yard pass from Kalley Young to Tawfig Ramsey. <br>
<br>
A blocked punt in the first quarter led to Florida Atlantic's first score, a 32-yard field goal by Mark Myers that made the score 3-0. <br>
<br>
Later in the quarter, a 10-yard touchdown run by Barron stretched the Owl's lead to 10-0. <br>
<br>
Morris Brown answered in the second quarter with a 10-yard run by Chris Woods that cut the lead to 10-7.
