The woman's husband, Anthony Barrett, 27, and his mother, Mary, 53, also of Bowdon, have been released on $5,000 bond on charges of concealing a death, Chief Deputy Brad Robinson said Monday.
Christopher Barrett was being held in neighboring Paulding County, where the remains of a woman were found Friday in a shallow grave in a wooded area. The remains were not positively identified, but Robinson said authorities were almost 100 percent certain they were those of Tracy Barrett.
The deputy said Christopher Barrett told police he and his sister-in-law rode together to Barrow County, on the other side of Atlanta almost 100 miles northeast of this west Georgia county, on July 10. He said he had not seen her since she left his vehicle, Robinson said.
